Dr. Hartman’s passion lies in equine lameness, rehabilitation, metabolic diseases, and nutrition. She is an avid equestrian, and she has spent a lifetime immersed in the training and upkeep of performance horses. Dr. Hartman believes in the whole horse approach to attaining optimal equine health, from balanced nutritional consulting and cross-training to proactive joint health and the application of eastern medical practices. She is an ardent educator and genuinely believes that communication and comprehension between client and doctor are the keys to successful case outcomes. When not practicing medicine in the field, Dr. Hartman is actively involved in creating and providing educational experiences for adults and children within our equine community.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Hartman is an active competitor in the dressage community. She has spent the last three years developing her current equine partner, Bailey, and is looking forward to another competitive year in the show ring. When not on a horse, Dr. Hartman is an avid hiker and looks forward to pursuing adventures in international travel upon the resolution of our current pandemic.
